NEW DELHI: Suchi Semicon, a Surat-based semiconductor company, on Wednesday said it is investing $100 million to set up the first Semiconductor Assembly and Testing (OSAT) plant in Gujarat by November 2024.
With an initial area of 2,800 square meters, the plant will have a production capacity of up to three million chips per day and will serve key sectors such as consumer electronics, automobiles, telecommunications and wearables.
The company estimates that the plant will create up to 1,200 jobs and thus promote local economic growth.
In addition, the company has signed agreements with engineering colleges such as SVNIT (Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology) and Gujarat Technological University (GTU) to promote skill development and build a highly skilled workforce.
