The 2024 Democratic National Convention is in full swing, and Kamala Harris not only secured her party’s nomination for president, but also received a special recognition: a real “Yeah!” from Lil Jon.

That’s right, the crunk master himself put the “party” in “Democratic Party” at the party’s convention in Chicago on Tuesday by helping the state of Georgia officially nominate Harris during Tuesday’s unconventional roll call, which featured a DJ playing a unique song for each state.

When it was the Peach State’s turn, the beat to “Turn Down for What” hit and the camera panned to show Lil Jon delivering a signature “Yeah” before announcing, “Ladies and gentlemen, we are here tonight to officially nominate Kamala Harris for President!”

Then Lil Jon set the pace – “DNC, why not?” – and joined the Georgia delegates on the floor of Chicago’s United Center. From there, he pumped up the crowd and started the chant “We’re not going back.”

Then—as if that wasn’t surreal enough—Lil Jon went on to sing “Get Low” with the new lyrics “VP Harris, Governor Walz” instead of “to the window, to the wall.” Watch a clip of the moment below.

Just one night before the roll call, the Georgia Democrats participated in the “Get Low” mashup and hosted an after-party themed “Window to the Walz” where Lil Jon played a full DJ set.

Elsewhere during the roll call vote, songs by Bruno Mars, Fleetwood Mac, Tom Petty, Modest Mouse and others were played. Other musicians were also directly involved in the gathering – on Monday night, Jason Isbell played “Something More Than Free.”

Lil Jon’s enthusiasm for Harris’ campaign against Donald Trump is not surprising considering he said in 2016 that he “disagrees with a lot of what Mr. Trump has said” when he revealed that the former president had repeatedly called him “Uncle Tom” during the filming of Season 13 of “The Last Man.” The Apprentice.

Lil Jon is next booked for DJ sets in Las Vegas, California and Kentucky. Tickets are available here.
