A 14-year-old Maricopa High School student was the victim of an indecent exposure incident near Bedford Drive and Rancho El Dorado Parkway on Thursday.

After learning of the incident, Maricopa Police immediately launched an investigation.

Criminal Investigation personnel followed several investigative leads and gathered information that led them to an adult male in Gilbert. On Friday, the man was located and contacted by police.

“Although there was not enough evidence to make an arrest, MPD is working with the Pinal County District Attorney’s Office to ensure appropriate criminal charges are filed against the suspect,” the police department said today.

“MPD thanks everyone who assisted in the investigation that led to a quick conclusion to this case.”

The investigation suggests that this was an isolated case.

“The MPD urges community members to be aware of their surroundings and report any suspicious activity immediately,” the police department said.

Community members who may have additional information regarding the incident are asked to call the MPD’s non-emergency line at 520-568-3673.
