Curry shows excellent shooting technique when it matters most

That’s what Stephen Curry thought two years ago after he won his fourth NBA title with the Golden State Warriors. The only thing left for him was the Olympic gold medal – and he made sure he got that medal.

The United States is back on top of the international men’s basketball world after Stephen Curry scored 24 points – all three-pointers – in a 98-87 victory over France. It was the fifth consecutive gold medal for the United States and the 17th in 20 appearances at the Games.

“You just stay confident, stay present and don’t let the situation bother you,” said Curry, who has made 17 three-pointers in his last two games, starting with nine in the semifinal against Serbia.

Against France, he made four three-pointers in the final two minutes and 43 seconds, including one that gave the United States a 93-84 lead and sealed the victory.

“For me, winning a gold medal is crazy and I thank God for the opportunity to experience this,” Curry said.

Kevin Durant, the first four-time gold medalist in Olympic basketball, scored 15 points.

Victor Wembanyama led France with 26 points.

Three years ago, the French also lost in the final in Tokyo against the USA by 87:82.
