Fresh from winning the gold medal at the Paris Olympics on Saturday, LeBron James faced criticism on social media on Sunday following an interaction with a young fan in France.
A video posted on TikTok shows James walking toward the Team USA star with his phone behind his wife, Savannah, and a young fan. James was casually dressed and wearing Team USA gear as he walked around the car.

As the boy approached James, the Los Angeles Lakers star was heard sternly saying “Stop.” A member of James’ entourage pushed the boy out of the way as the group entered a restaurant.
James was congratulated by the photographers and performed a little dance as he entered the restaurant.
But it was the interaction with the child that caught the attention of social media users.

James and the U.S. team defeated France in a close game to win a gold medal. He has now won three gold medals in his Olympic career, in addition to four NBA championships. It was the fifth consecutive gold medal for the U.S. team.
“I’m incredibly proud to still be able to play this game,” James said. “I played at a high level, with 11 other great players and a great coaching staff, and then I did it for our country. It was a great moment.”
He scored 14 points in the win.
