Pitbull gives Kesha credit for the music video for “Timber” after facing heavy criticism for removing the video

Rapper Pitbull faced heavy criticism after Kesha fans noticed a difference in the YouTube credits of a popular song by the two artists.

“Timber,” originally released in 2013, featured pop singer Kesha on the song. Fans of the artist noticed last weekend that the music video’s credits read “Pitbull – Timber (Official Video),” but Kesha’s name is completely missing.

On August 18, fans alerted the “Fireball” singer to the change and he immediately released a statement on the matter via X.

Pitbull tagged Kesha in the X-post and said that there were no hard feelings between the two artists and that for Kesha, there was “always love.”

Subscribe and I have an incredible song together. That will not change. Team Pitbull is investigating this matter,” wrote Pitbull. “Love always for Kesha, Dale!”

As of August 20, the video’s YouTube credits read as follows: “Pitbull, Ke$ha – Timber (featuring Ke$ha – Official Video).” Pitbull thanked fans for pointing out the discrepancy.

“Thank you to the fans. Team Pitbull took care of this. Dale!” the Miami singer said of X.

There is no update on why Kesha’s name was removed from the credits, but fans had speculated that it was due to the legal dispute Kesha had with Łukasz Sebastian Gottwald, or Dr. Luke, who is credited as the song’s songwriter and producer.

Kesha has not made any statement on the matter; the reason for her dismissal is still unclear.

Pitbull is scheduled to perform at Hersheypark Stadium this weekend on August 24th.
