Sandy Ridge Golf Course builds new clubhouse

Sandy Ridge Golf Course of Midland will begin construction on a new 4,500-square-foot clubhouse/event area in early October and is scheduled to open May 1 of next year.

Co-owner Josh Grocholski said it was time to replace the current clubhouse, which was built in 1963.

“The current clubhouse … has seen many events, golf and wear and tear over the years. The clubhouse, originally built as a residence, has served its time. We are planning for the next 60 years of Sandy Ridge and this new clubhouse will provide smoother operations and an improved customer experience,” Grocholski said.

The new building will have an additional 2,000 square feet of covered patio space on the upper floor. The lower floor will house refrigeration, machinery, electrical and storage rooms, as well as two bathrooms accessible from the outside.

The building will also feature a dining room and terrace with space for weddings and special events.

“The new facility will be rural and inviting for golfers and guests,” said co-owner Jake Grocholski. “We have most of the permits in place and the rest are expected to be issued in a few weeks. From our perspective, the project is moving along at full speed.”

Paul Sylvester, owner of Midland-based Sylvester Companies Inc., will oversee construction of the facility.

Sandy Ridge is owned by Greg and Luanne Grocholski and their sons Josh (wife Kim) and Jake (wife Chelsie) Grocholski.
