HOWELL, Michigan – Former President Donald Trump is calling for the death penalty for child abuse, capital crimes for doctors who perform transgender surgery on minors without parental consent and a return to “stop and frisk” policing, he announced Tuesday in a speech that focused on crime and sharply criticized Vice President Kamala Harris’ “anti-police” policies.
“I am announcing today that I will seek the death penalty for child molesters and child traffickers,” Trump is expected to say in his speech to the Livingston County Sheriff’s Department in Howell, Michigan.
“And to protect our children from sexual mutilation, we will make it a crime for medical professionals to perform surgery on minors without parental consent,” said the 78-year-old Republican presidential candidate.
Trump also vowed to “aggressively pursue dangerous criminals who violate existing gun laws – including by returning to ‘stop and frisk’ measures,” which have been criticized by the left for leading to arrests based on racism.
“Kamala Harris will bring us crime, chaos, destruction and death,” Trump argued. “I will provide law, order, security and peace. And I will protect those who protect us.”
The former president, standing in front of three shiny SUVs from the Livingston County Sheriff’s Department, also promised to provide “reinforcements” to law enforcement if elected in November.
“Under my leadership, we will make record investments in the recruitment, retention and training of police officers,” Trump will say.
The 45th president repeatedly attacked Vice President Kamala Harris, accusing her of waging a “crusade against the police” and supporting “extremist, pro-crime, anti-police” policies.
