The frightening moment when strong winds swept away an inflatable slide and sent it flying during a severe thunderstorm in Alabama was captured on video.

In the video, adults can be seen running toward the camera. One of the adults, a woman, is holding onto a child as she runs, and a man is dodging a plastic stool that has been dragged across the concrete by the wind.

Moments later, a giant inflatable rainbow slide, popular at children’s birthday parties and outdoor events, tumbled across the field where an event was taking place.

“Oh my goodness,” a man can be heard saying in the background, while others behind the camera scream in surprise.

The slide flies over a truck and a building before disappearing from the frame and the shot ends.

There are plastic tables, a basketball hoop and more scattered on the floor.

When the slide took off, no one was on it. The children who were playing on it were not removed from the slide until two minutes before it was launched into the air, said Joshua Cofield, who shot the video.

A tent at the event also collapsed on the participants, reFox Weather reported. However, Cofield, who was at the event with his family, told the newspaper that people under the tent suffered scratches but were able to get out.
