X-Men Write announces his upcoming “visual autobiography”

X-Men And Iron-ManGerry Duggan and Image Comics have announced the upcoming release of a “visual autobiography” celebrating the author’s life in comics. Timing/Lucka collection of Duggan’s photographs spanning two decades, featuring his friends and colleagues, including other legendary comic book writers, comedians and more.




Timing/Luck was originally released in a crowdfunded limited edition, and according to Popverse, a softcover edition of Duggan’s photo collection is now coming to Image Comics on November 19. Famous people fans can expect to see in the visual autobiography include Patton Oswalt, Sarah Silverman, Stan Lee, Mark Hamill, Todd McFarlane, Robert Kirkman, Eric Stephenson, Marc Silvestri, James Tynion IV, Brian Posehn, Kevin Feige, Vita Ayala, Jason Aaron, Rick Remender, Matt Fraction, Chip Zdarsky, Jeff Lemire, Tini Howard, Skottie Young, John McCrea, Jock, Leah Williams, Brian K. Vaughn, Christopher Priest, Charles Soule, G. Willow Wilson, Brian Azzarello and Declan Shalvey, among others.

Duggan is famous for writing comics such as Marvel’s X-Men, Invincible Iron Man, Dead eyesAnd Fall in love onthe road to hellbut he is also an avid photographer. Duggan expressed his excitement about the upcoming softcover edition of the photography collection and the partnership with Image Comics.Timing/Luck is a visual autobiography of my time in Los Angeles when the worlds of comics and Hollywood began to intersect,” he said. “It has been an honor to work with so many talented artists and travel the world to support the work. After successfully crowdfunding the limited edition, I am proud to publish the softcover with Image Comics, my longtime home for artist collaborations.”



Another upcoming Image Comics project

Image Comics is releasing a brand new crime comic called Royal Early 2025. Created by Eisner Award-winning author Derek Kirk Kim and emerging artist Jacob Perez, Royal is set in the “dark back alleys” of Seoul, South Korea, where twin brothers Paul and Castor use their uncanny telepathic connection to profit from the perfect poker deal. They are eventually caught red-handed by one of Seoul’s most ruthless crime syndicates – and now the brothers must launch a daring heist, using their telepathic powers to save their lives.

Image Comics’ Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles volume, which was eventually completed through a reprint at IDW, was the brand’s most bizarre mutation to date.


The original hardcover graphic novel will be available in comic book stores on April 9, 2025, and in independent bookstores, Amazon, and other booksellers on April 22, 2025. Royal, including Amazon Kindle, Apple Books and the Google Play Store, will also be available on digital platforms.

Image Comics and Gerry Duggan’s Timing/Luck will be published in bookstores on November 19, 2024.
