LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – Get your bikes out and ride under the moonlight. The 9th Annual Lawrence Hopewell Trail Full Moon Bike Ride will be held Saturday, September 14th in Mercer Meadows.
Participants meet at Rosedale Lake on Federal City Road between Blackwell Road and Old Mill Road in Pennington.
Registration check-in begins at 7:00 p.m. The ride begins with a special farewell at 7:30 p.m., but participants are welcome to start later. All riders must be off the course by 9:30 p.m.
There will be a lively DJ, a stop to see glow-in-the-dark juggling by the Trenton Circus Squad, and live music. At the end, bikers can reward themselves with s’mores around the campfire.
“We are very proud that the Full Moon Ride has attracted cyclists from near and far, new riders and repeat riders to what has become a one-of-a-kind event,” said David Sandahl, LHT CEO. “It’s hard to beat a fun ride in a beautiful park under the moonlight.”
Although the moon is nearly full and provides some light, front and rear lights are a must for participants. Helmets are required by New Jersey law for anyone under 18.
Co-sponsored by the Mercer County Park Commission, this ride is open to ages 12 and older.
“I am proud that Mercer County can continue to support this great event,” said County Executive Dan Benson. “After years of planning and work, it is incredible to see the Lawrence Hopewell Trail nearly complete. I believe the trail’s success can serve as a blueprint as we work to expand and connect our trail systems throughout Mercer.”
