Last year was a year of conflict between Mike Mars and his former Mötley Crüe bandmates. Mars filed suit against Mötley Crüe in April 2023, which was previously Mars‘ liked (although he got pretty nasty in public).
Mars also announced that he has now sold his publishing rights to Mötley Crüe‘s music, but noted in the same interview that the whole situation is breaking his heart. And how could he not be? Aside from the lawsuits and everything, Mike Mars And Mötley Crüe still spent around four decades together. So it is not too surprising that, after all that has happened, Mars is still ready to write songs for Mötley Crüe.
In an interview with Audacy Check-In, Mars said in Mötley Crüe postponed his solo album for quite a long time, but he still wrote with his former bandmates.
“Well, it took me 40 years, because Motley was a priority… and now that I’m retired, I’m just being myself,” said Mars“I mean, if Motley wanted me to write songs with them again, of course I would… But right now I’m just being myself, so I’m writing, and it’s not Motleyand that’s how I feel – my ideas and my way of doing things and trying to reinvent myself or bring myself up to date.”
So who knows if that will happen. Mötley Crüe currently has new music on the way with John 5And Mars is working hard on new solo material. But it would be nice if Mars And Crüe could maybe get together one last time and do something classic, yeah?
