Top AEW star claims to be currently working without a contract – eWrestling

— Bryan Danielson is scheduled to main event this weekend at AEW All In in London, but according to a recent interview with Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful.com, he is currently competing in AEW without a contract.

“I’m not signed right now. Yeah, I’m just not signed, it’s crazy. Tony and I have spoken. I always answer the phone when he calls… if I’m on the phone, I have to clarify because he called me last night, but it was 9:30 p.m. Pacific time and I was already asleep.”

“The first thing I need to do when I stop wrestling is get my neck fixed, which will probably require neck surgery sooner rather than later. So that will be my first order of business and then I’ll help AEW however I can. I love AEW so I want to help as much as I can and as much as they want my help, I’m willing to get involved.”

– Danielson also didn’t seem to know if he received messages from other providers since he’s technically a free agent. He noted that it’s possible someone contacted him since he has nearly 4,000 unread text messages.

— When discussing his other roles in AEW, Danielson stated that he doesn’t enjoy being part of the company’s disciplinary committee, but he is honored to be considered a level-headed wrestler who represents the wrestler’s perspective well. He also noted that he supports Tony Khan in AEW’s creative works, but ultimately most of the things that are on TV are Tony’s ideas and called Khan a “brilliant mind” when it comes to wrestling. When his wrestling career comes to an end, he isn’t sure what role(s) will come his way.
