While fans wait to see Bridgerton While Season 4 focuses on Benedict, some are still debating the story of Colin and Penlope’s friendship-turned-lovers. Their steamy scenes were much talked about after Season 3 dropped on Netflix. (That was especially true of the infamous carriage scene.) Now, months later, one fan has done the fandom a favor by compiling some of the character’s not-for-work moments that weren’t “very low-key.” And yes, the video is just as funny as you’d expect.
One of the latest social media trends involves users discussing what “very reserved” is, meaning reserved, modest, and shy. One could definitely argue that “Polish” could have used an explanation for this expression at many points in Season 3 of. Bridgerton. X-user filled_popcorn created a thread pointing out the moments when the couple “weren’t very attentive, very reserved, or very modest.” Check it out for yourself, and don’t be surprised if you laugh as much as I did:

Bridgerton isn’t known for being “PG-rated” in the slightest, so it’s not surprising that there are many instances where Polin wasn’t very restrained. Between the carriage scene and her very public appearances (both in daylight and moonlight), they were, frankly, a lot. It’s actually surreal to see all of these moments chronicled in a single location. Overall, the social media thread really highlights how dirty (romantically speaking) both Colin and Penelope were during these episodes. But let’s be honest, I think fans had this idea even without this video as a reminder.
Strangely, some would argue that Bridgerton isn’t raunchy enough compared to the books, though I’d argue it’s still plenty hot. Overall, I was happy with the show, aside from the inappropriate pairings and the decision to turn Michael into Michaela. But aside from that, I’d say this latest X-thread is a true testament to how sensual the Shonda Rhimes-produced regency era drama can be.
Bridgerton Season 3 was both sweet and sexy, and it was very satisfying to see Colin and Penelope’s friendship develop into something much bigger. While they weren’t always “very low key,” they certainly kept the story interesting, and I’m glad we got to continue to follow their relationship. Even though season 4 won’t be about them, it’s likely they’ll have a few more memorable scenes in the episodes to come. And I’d bet that at least some of them won’t be so low key.
In the future, I will need this X-user to watch future couples and determine how reticent they are. In the meantime, however, anyone with a Netflix subscription can watch the first three seasons of Bridgerton and see for yourself which scenes are modest and which are not.
