The breezy, bouncy and bold track, which samples Jodeci’s classic of the same name, sees Sean celebrate fatherhood. Accompanied by handclaps and an upbeat groove, he becomes pensive as he muses: “I look into my son’s eyes and still see his innocence. At the same time, he paints a vivid picture of his first year as a father. In the verses, he shares his knowledge with his little boy and enjoys the moment, “Close my eyes, imagine heaven, and there I am. The accompanying picture literally transports the viewer into son, Noah Hasani‘s shoes. Taken from the baby’s perspective, it captures a candid “Day in the Life” the whole family as proud parents Sean and Jhene Aiko Show life at home during playtime, bathtime and bedtime.

“Upwards” is the third song from the highly anticipated sixth studio album by the hip-hop powerhouse Better me than you after the hard “Yes” with his debut on Jimmy Kimmel Live!and the hard-hitting comeback single “Precision.”
