Generation Z pop princess Chappell Roan has been offered leading roles in films, she said interview Magazine. But she’s not interested in working with “fucking crazy” actors – so she turns them all down.
Roan sat down with SNL‘s Bowen Yang for the interview and explained that while she once wanted to be an actress, she’s been put off from it since moving to Los Angeles. (So much for those “Pink Pony Club” vibes.) “I originally got into music because I wanted to make it as an actress, and then I moved to Los Angeles and was like, ‘Screw it.’ The industry is really so scary,” she said. “Actors are fucking crazy.”
“Film people scare me so much,” she continued. “In the last few weeks I’ve been asked, ‘Do you want to star in XYZ?’ and I said, ‘No.'”
However, “crazy” actors aren’t the only thing that keeps her from taking acting roles – it’s also the creative freedom the music industry offers her. “I can release music whenever I want,” she told Yang. “I don’t have to wait for a casting director to say, ‘It would be great if we cast you, and then we’ll set your schedule for the next three months.'”

Despite being so confident in her stance right now, Roan admits she may regret her decision later. “I hope that I look back on this time and still stand by all the no’s that I said, because right now I say no to pretty much everything,” she said.
And although she has drawn a hard line, Roan said she May is open to a “very silly” cameo. “I think it would have to be really special,” she noted. “It would have to be really right and the right time.”
