What makes Booz Allen unique when it comes to filling intelligence and national security positions?

Jamie FitzGerald, director and head of the company’s national agency business, says: “At Booz Allen, the world is your oyster. Whatever you want to do, Booz Allen makes it possible.”

“We build bridges within our organization so you can expand your skills and expertise and pursue a career that brings you fulfillment,” he says.

What national security challenges does Booz Allen address?

Our clients undertake all types of national security missions and because we are at the cutting edge of technology, we are able to provide this knowledge to these clients.

Becky Robertson, vice president of our cybersecurity practice, points out that our mission-based approach is diverse. “We seamlessly combine the capabilities and expertise of our people across different customer areas, whether it’s commercial cyber activities, Department of Defense activities, intelligence activities, and whether it’s defense or offense,” she explains. “We do it all – and we network with other parts of the company that also operate in those areas.”

What are the expectations regarding working at SCIF?

It’s probably no surprise that much of our national security work requires working on-site in a SCIF (Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility). Still, Becky notes that “there are some new capabilities that allow unclassified work to be done remotely.”

Senior Program Manager Ashely Fagan agrees. “We’re discussing the future of work with our customers,” says Ashely. “And we’re at the forefront of maintaining a diverse, distributed and digital workforce for national security.”

In addition, the pandemic enabled other areas of Booz Allen to work almost exclusively from home, with employees working from locations around the world.

What can an applicant expect in the recruitment process?

Christine Rath, Head of Talent Acquisition, explains that we are committed to ensuring our candidate-centric hiring process is clear.

While the hiring timeline varies by team, mission, and candidate transition time, you can expect this general flow: “Once you apply for a role, a recruiter will review your application,” says Christine. “If you’re a potential fit, you’ll be contacted by phone and next steps may include the formal application process. This may consist of video interviews, one-on-one interviews, and/or group interviews with the hiring team. Your recruiter will then contact you if you receive an offer.”
