Earn 1,000 Marriott points when you link your Uber account and take a ride

Earn 1,000 Marriott points when you link your Uber account and take a ride

A few years ago, Marriott launched a partnership with Uber that offers bonus points for rides or Uber Eats orders. Since then, they have regularly offered additional bonus points for linking your accounts, taking an Uber ride, and/or placing an Uber Eats order.

Marriott now has another such offer that gives 1,000 bonus Bonvoy points when you link your accounts and then take an Uber ride. Unfortunately, this time, an Uber Eats order is not one of the qualifying activities that trigger the bonus, and neither are Uber X rides.

The deal

  • Earn up to 1,000 Marriott Bonvoy bonus points when you link your Bonvoy account to your Uber account and then take an Uber ride.
    • The trip must be completed by August 31, 2024.

Short thoughts

If you haven’t already linked your Marriott and Uber accounts and use Uber and/or Uber Eats, there’s a relatively easy way to earn 1,000 bonus points.

I say “pretty much” because there are a few important things to note. If you want to earn the bonus points by taking an Uber ride, you’ll need to ride Uber XL, Uber Black, Uber SUV, or Uber Comfort—Uber X, Uber Pet, etc. seem to be excluded from this. Based on a quick look at the fares to a random location near me, Uber XL would be twice as expensive as Uber X, though I imagine this varies depending on location, time of day, destination, etc.

In addition, the trip must take place within the United States to count toward the points bonus.

If you have an Amex Platinum or Amex Gold card, your monthly Uber balance will count toward fulfilling this offer.
