Former President Barack Obama will take the stage at the 2024 Democratic National Convention on Tuesday night, as Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris garners support in the hotly contested presidential race against former President Donald Trump.

Obama is one of several notable speakers scheduled to speak at the convention on Tuesday, the same night as his wife, former first lady Michelle Obama. The convention comes nearly eight years after the end of his second term in the White House.

The Obamas endorsed Harris and their vice presidential nominee, Tim Walz, after Biden officially announced his withdrawal from the race, sharing a statement on social media calling Walz an “outstanding governor” who will make an “even better vice president.”

Harris, the Democratic candidate, will close the convention on Thursday evening with her acceptance speech.

Here’s what you need to know about tuning in to Obama’s DNC speech.
