The community joins forces for the charity event “Bubba’s Ride”

Bubba’s Ride is back and it’s going to be bigger than ever! When Donyon Mohon was battling leukemia, he couldn’t stand seeing so many sick children in the hospital. He wanted to do something to help these families. After he passed away on January 25, 2022 at the age of 21, family and friends are fulfilling his final wish. Here’s how you can participate in Bubba’s Ride.

In 2022, I introduced you to Donyon Mohon. Emotions were raw after we lost him earlier this year. He fought bravely against Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia for three years until his body could no longer fight the infection. His legacy lives on in those who loved him most.

DONYON MOHON’S LEGACY LIVES ON

When I read comments about Donyon at the time, I learned that he had many family members and friends who cared deeply about him. No one misses him more than his wife Kaitlyn, his father and stepmother Jarad and Cynthia, and his mother Jill Wood. His sisters Mindy, Jaden, Kaylee and Cherolee are heartbroken. He was described as kind, funny, stubborn, a great friend, a fighter and determined. He had a deep relationship with Jesus and inspired others. His spirit will live on in everyone he touched here on earth.

His friends, family and community are still searching for words to describe the pain they still feel, and they try to remember each day as best they can the special person they lost that January day.

They will remember his kind and generous heart when Bubba’s Ride takes place behind the Beechmont Fire Department in Beechmont, Kentucky on Saturday, September 28, 2024.

IN MEMORY OF THE FIGHTER DONYON MOHON

This is the face of a fighter. He fought cancer bravely with everything he had in him. He wanted to live a long and healthy life. He wanted to do so much more. He never wanted to leave the people he loved, but God had other plans. For the past two years, we have complained about masks, argued about politics, and worried about things that were out of our control. While we did that, Donyon Mohon just wanted to live. This puts a lot of things in perspective. Continue to pray for his family and friends who miss him terribly.
