What voters are saying ahead of the Indian River County Sheriff election

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, Fla. – When voters go to the polls in Indian River County on Tuesday, they will decide who they want to head the sheriff’s office.

Three Republicans, including incumbent Eric Flowers, and one candidate who cannot be registered with the political body, are running for the post.

The challengers on the ballot are Milo Thorton and Keith Touchberry.

Indian River County Republican Sheriff Eric Flowers explains why voters should elect him for another term

Some Vero Beach residents, like Julie Jackson, said they would go to the polls on Tuesday and vote in the election for sheriff.

“I’m not sure who I’m going to vote for yet,” Jackson said.

Republican Milo Thornton wants to become the next sheriff of Indian River County

Residents like Bud Crossman said he is considering many things in this election.

“Fentanyl is a big concern, and I’m also concerned about illegal immigrants and homeless veterans,” Crossman said.

Deborah Cooney is the only candidate eligible to run at the request of the Indian River County Sheriff.
