After withdrawing from his bid for a second term in the White House, President Joe Biden will “campaign for Vice President Kamala Harris and her running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz” at the Democratic National Convention. The four-day event begins in Chicago on August 19, and Harris and Walz are expected to accept their party’s nomination to run.

The co-chairs of this year’s convention are Minnesota Lieutenant Governor Peggy Flanagan, former New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu, New Jersey Senator Cory Booker and Texas Representative Veronica Escobar. Hollywood stars selected to host the 2024 DNC include Kerry Washington and Mindy Kaling, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus will moderate a daytime panel on the third day of the convention that will spotlight U.S. female governors.

The four-day 2024 DNC will be broadcast live by ABC, CBS News, CNN, CSPAN, Fox News, MSNBC, NBC News, NewsNation, PBS and other local and national cable networks. When and where will the DNC 2024 take place?

The speeches and main program of the 2024 Democratic National Convention will take place from Monday, August 19, to Thursday, August 22, at the United Center in Chicago. According to the DNC, each day will have a theme: “For the People,” “A Bold Vision for America’s Future,” “A Fight for Our Freedoms,” and “For Our Future.”

Only delegates, volunteers and other invited guests may attend the 2024 DNC.

Who will speak at the 2024 DNC?

In addition to Biden, Harris and Walz, speakers at the 2024 DNC are expected to include Presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton, First Lady Dr. Jill Biden, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Jason Carter (grandson of President Jimmy Carter). There is much speculation about whether Beyoncé and Taylor Swift will publicly endorse Kamala Harris for president and whether either will appear at the 2024 Democratic National Convention. Outside of the convention, Chicago will host over 100 events with headliners such as John Legend, Billy Porter, Jon Stewart, Octavia Spencer and others.

Vice President Kamala Harris is expected to accept the Democratic presidential nomination on August 22 during the main telecast, which begins at 4 p.m. PT/7 p.m. ET.

How to watch the DNC online without cable
