Quinn Martin had a wild week on Big Brotherand it’s not even quite over yet. After surviving America’s nomination to compete in the AI Arena, things seemed to be looking up as he was still able to hijack the HOH competition and knock his rivals out of the game. Unfortunately, that task got off to a rocky start and the situation only got worse after the Veto Ceremony.
First, Quinn missed the opportunity to use Angela Murray as a pawn when she won her second HOH. Undeterred that one of his biggest rivals was now safe for the week, he used his power to control her nominations and then singled out Tucker Lauriers, Makensy Manbeck and Cedric Hodges for eviction. Now that readers who aren’t streaming Big Brother After catching up on the live feeds, we’ll talk next about the Veto Contest and what it means for Quinn.
Tucker won the fourth week veto
Tucker winning a competition at this point is almost like saying “water is wet”. It seems like no one in the house can shine in competitions like him, which is great for Tucker because he needs to win as many as possible to even have a chance with the judges at this point.
I’m not surprised and still wonder why Quinn didn’t wait until after the veto to nominate him. It’s just bad gameplay, although as someone who has Tucker on my list of winners, I’m not complaining.
With Angela and Tucker off the table, Quinn’s big HOH coup is a flop
After vetoing Angela last week, Tucker doesn’t seem to be making that mistake again. He’s determined to stay in the house for another week, which puts Quinn in a bad position. The two people he most wanted out remain in the game, and now he’s trying to salvage this week with some sort of Hail Mary pass.
Right now, it looks like he wants to put Rubina Bernabe on the waitlist, which could serve him two purposes. He may be hoping that Tucker won’t withdraw from the waitlist because he had a show romance with her. Second, taking out Rubina would at least weaken Tucker’s position in the House, which is good for Quinn.
Regardless of how this week turns out, Quinn is in a bad position because those who want to win Big Brother try to keep a low profile. Not only has Quinn been exposed as a power player, he’s now an expendable target for his alliance since his power is gone. If someone outside of his Pentagon alliance (Quinn, Cedric, Cam Sullivan-Brown, Chelsie Baham, Brooklyn Rivera) wins the HOH, I could see him being targeted and his allies being ready to cut ties due to his unreliable play thus far. And to think, just two weeks ago he looked like the mastermind of the game!
Big Brother airs on CBS Sundays at 9pm ET and Wednesdays and Thursdays at 8pm ET. I’m excited to see how the rest of this week goes and what the next big twist will be when AI Arena finally ends.
