In a move that is set to shake up the financial services industry, Merchant Advice Service has launched Payments Directory, a unique, solutions-focused approach that enables businesses to secure their next best merchant account – unbiased and with unrivalled transparency. Developed with input from experts who previously worked on the development of MoneySuperMarket.
Whether business owners are looking for support with card payments, business banking or merchant cash advances, Payments Directory uses sophisticated filters and algorithms to narrow your search to the most relevant options that meet your needs.
The directory already has 35 providers listed, including Worldpay, Paysafe, Trust Payments and Total Processing, and the team is working to have 200 or more providers listed by the end of the year.
All companies need to do is enter the filters relevant to their needs and start by selecting a category that matches their payment requirements. To do this, they must specify the geographic region, monthly turnover, industry they operate in and integration requirements. Some categories also require the location of the company or manager.
Nine different categories help businesses compare the financial services and products that best suit their needs, from business banking, cash advances and direct debits to EPOS, merchant accounts and payment gateways.
Prior to the launch of the Payments Directory, this information was not readily available to businesses without a broker. By making this information available free of charge, Merchant Advice Service aims to empower and inform businesses and ensure they understand all aspects of the payment, banking and financial options available to them, so they can make informed decisions and optimise operations.
Free from external influences or bias, the directory puts a company’s interests first, ensuring that the guidance and recommendations offered are impartial and focused on finding the best solutions for the business. It is a platform that can serve companies of all sizes, including those with complex or high-risk requirements.

Libby James, founder of www.merchantadviceservice.co.uk, commented on the launch of the industry’s first Payment Directory: “I started working on The Payment Directory in March as a direct result of my frustration with the lack of transparency and education for business owners navigating the complex financial services landscape and am incredibly excited to be bringing a completely original solution to market.
“I know it will cause a stir in the industry because this is the first time that this information is being shared with companies, allowing them to take control, do their own research and learn about financial services. But I want to give companies more freedom to act and help them understand the processes and the industry better.”
