Whether you’re a new or returning student, there’s a ton of information out there about university life! We’ve done the hard work for you of figuring out which social media accounts to follow to make the most of your time in Liverpool.

  1. Firstly, make sure you’re up to date with all the latest news from the University of Liverpool and follow us on Instagram @livuni and TikTok @liverpooluni – these are your social media accounts for all things #TeamLivUni.
  2. @livunihalls If you are living in a dorm this year, @livunihalls keeps you up to date with all the latest news in the student residences, be it craft evenings, summer carnivals or Christmas decoration competitions.
  1. @liverpoolguild The Liverpool Guild of Students is your student union and is behind much of what makes university life tick. Follow them to find out more about clubs, volunteering opportunities and Guild events. Each year you can vote for your Guild officers or even stand for office yourself if you want to make a real difference to student life at the University and nationally.
  1. @studentmindsorg Student Minds is the UK’s mental health charity, particularly for students. Their account offers words of wisdom and tips to support your mental health. Also look out for their annual #UniMentalHealthDay.

  3. @independentliverpool The original and, some would say, best guide to what’s happening in Liverpool’s independent bars, restaurants, cinemas and theatres. Independent Liverpool also offers an app and discount card with a range of offers across the city.
  4. @culture_liverpool Liverpool has an international reputation as a cultural hub, and rightly so. The team at Culture Liverpool are behind some of the city’s biggest cultural events, including the Eurovision Song Contest and the annual River of Light Festival. Their account is guaranteed to give you inspiration for what to do in your free time.

On their site, the library team will tell you about a range of services including electronic resources, study support and the academic skills you’ll need during your studies.

Find out how you can get involved in causes that matter to you and help us continue to lead the way in developing a more sustainable future.
  7. @theguidelpool Want to feel like a local? Follow Visit Liverpool to discover the latest hotspots and you’ll know the city like the back of your hand in no time!
