Russian army attacks energy infrastructure in Kozacha Lopan, leaving over 1,000 consumers without electricity

On the night of August 19, the Russian army attacked Kozacha Lopan in the Kharkiv region, damaging two private houses and disrupting energy infrastructure.

This was written by Oleh Syniehubov, the head of the Kharkiv regional military administration, in the messaging app Telegram, reports Ukrinform.

No casualties have been reported, the regional governor said.

According to Viacheslav Zadorenko, head of the military administration of the city of Derhachi, the Russian army hit the energy infrastructure, leaving Kozacha Lopan, Nova Kozacha, Tsupivka and Dubivka – more than 1,000 households – without electricity.

According to Syniehubov, the Russians shelled Kupiansk three times on August 18. A 52-year-old woman suffered an explosion injury. Houses and outbuildings caught fire as a result of the shelling.

In the village of Kivsharivka, Kupiansk District, Russian shelling damaged three five-storey residential buildings, as well as premises and equipment of community sanitation enterprises.

In the village of Sobolivka, Kupyansk District, the grass caught fire as a result of the shelling.

As a result of artillery shelling, an area of ​​nine hectares of coniferous forest burned near the village of Novoplatonivka in the Izium district.

According to the governor of the region, over the past 24 hours there have been three fighting incidents in the Kharkiv sector near Vovchansk and Lyptsi. Two enemy attacks are currently underway.

In the Kupiansk sector, Russian troops attacked the Ukrainian army’s defense lines 16 times yesterday, particularly near Synkivka, Hluzhkivka, Kolisnykivka and Stelmakhivka. Twelve battles have ended, four are still ongoing.

As Ukrinform reported, on August 17, Russian troops shelled the private residential sector in Kozacha Lopan. Fires broke out in several households.
