Former friends of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have criticised the couple for their public comments about the royal family. One said: “I can’t believe he would stoop so low.”
The couple resigned from their roles within the monarchy in 2020 and They have settled in Montecito, California, where they live with their two children, Prince Archie, five, and Princess Lilibet, three.
Since then, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have spoken about their private lives within the royal family in an interview with television presenter Oprah Winfrey, in Harry’s sensational memoir “Spare” and in a Netflix docuseries called “Harry & Meghan.”
The Times spoke to several of the Duke of Sussex’s former friends ahead of his 40th birthday next month. One said: “I can’t believe he would stoop so low. This is outrageously disloyal. Oprah, Netflix and then the book? Three failures and you’re out.”
Another added: “He’s an angry boy. Things haven’t gone the way he wanted. I think he misses being here (in the UK) terribly and wants to be admired more.”
A third told the publication: “Harry and Meghan could have left with dignity and decency without ruining the institution. The implication is that they made money ruining his family.”
