Clint Eastwood is not on social media.

A spokesperson for the 93-year-old actor and filmmaker confirmed to PEOPLE that Eastwood does not have any official social media accounts, although there are pages online that claim to belong to the star.

One X account in particular (formerly Twitter) tricked Eastwood followers into believing he was behind the account because the profile had a checkmark that said “Verified.”

Previously, blue checkmarks on X meant that an account actually belonged to the person or organization depicted. But since Elon Musk took over the social media site, anyone with an active subscription to X Premium can display the badge on their profile.
