Jade Thirlwall writes her first solo album with Raye

Jade Thirlwall asked Raye for help with her debut solo album.

The former Little Mix star has reportedly met with the ‘Escapism’ hitmaker to pen tracks for her long-awaited new album and is “absolutely thrilled” to have the record-breaking singer – who made history when she won six of the seven awards she was nominated for at the BRIT Awards last month – on board to help.

A source told Sunday newspaper The Sun’s Bizarre column: “Jade really respects Raye’s work and the pair have known each other for years on the music scene, so she is absolutely thrilled that Raye has agreed to contribute her songwriting skills to her debut album.”

“Jade has put her heart and soul into the album and wants it to be just right.”

Raye isn’t the only person Jade has collaborated with, as Jax Jones recently announced that they will be entering the studio together in 2022 and he hopes that the “cool music” they’ve made together will eventually see the light of day.

Writing in The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column, he said: “It’s a good song. If she wants to use it, it’s there.”

“Miley Cyrus and Pharrell Williams released Doctor, which was recorded years ago, so you never really know what’s going to happen.

“But I know I wrote cool music with Jade and we’re still cool and have a great vibe.”

Last year, Jade reportedly wrote songs with Dan Smith from Bastille.

The pair are said to have entered into a songwriting partnership after attending a writers’ seminar together and produced a number of tracks that were offered to other artists.

A source told The Sun at the time: “Jade and Dan have met a few times over the years when they attended the same events.

“But they weren’t really friends until they ended up on this retreat with a bunch of other songwriters and started getting together to develop ideas.

“They hit it off and produced some strong tracks. Some of them have already been offered to other artists, so it’s only a matter of time before they get snapped up.”
