Today’s Connections Answer – Tips for Solving
Unlike our guide to today’s Wordle answer where we recommend the best Wordle seed words as a strategy, solving Connections relies on identifying categories of connections among 16 words. The difficulty level of each category is represented by a color; yellow is the easiest grouping and purple is the most challenging. Once you make 4 mistakes in your guesses, the answers are revealed, so hints can be helpful.
If you need hints on how to solve the groupings, you can find the topics of the individual groupings here, sorted by difficulty level:
- 🟨 Yellow: Music genres
- 🟩 Green: Bratwurst Passages
- 🟦 Blue: Yoga poses
- 🟪 Purple: Starting with Pixar films
These clues should give you at least part of the answer to today’s Connections question. If not, you can read on for bigger clues. If you just want to know the answer, keep scrolling down.
Here is a bigger hint: Don’t worry too much about today’s puzzle. Instead, put on some music, grab some snacks, and watch one of those movies you loved as a kid.
Today’s Connections Answers
So what are today’s Connections answers for game #435?
Drum roll, please…
- 🟨 Music genres: Blues, Country, Folk, Rock
- 🟩 Bratwurst goes well with this: Roast, bread rolls, mustard, sauerkraut
- 🟦 Yoga positions: Chair, Mountain, Tree, Warrior
- 🟪 Starting with Pixar movies: coconut, soul mate, updo, wallet
After getting stuck on the puzzle yesterday, I was glad that today was easier. The yellow category came first without too much trouble. Blues is hard to confuse with anything other than the genre of music, and when I started to look for other genres, country, folk and rock quickly caught my eye.
I was at a family barbecue yesterday and I guess I still had hot dogs and hamburgers on my mind, because the next thing I knew was greens with bratwurst, bread rolls, mustard and sauerkraut.
After that, I fiddled around a bit, but stumbled into a category where I only had one wrong answer and didn’t guess correctly. I had heard of mountain and warrior poses in yoga before, and I vaguely remember chair poses from a yoga class a friend dragged me to years ago. But I didn’t know that tree was one too; the more the merrier!
The purple category became a routine task after that. I should have guessed the connection, since the same category from yesterday was linked to another cartoon, Snow White, but that still wasn’t enough of a clue for me.
Yesterday’s Connections answers
Are you reading this in a later time zone? Here are the Connections answers for game #434, which had a difficulty level of 3.4 out of 5 according to the Connections Companion.
I understand why yesterday’s puzzle was so difficult. That purple category is downright devilish.
Only the green category was easy for me this time. “What If” and “Suppose” are so similar that they immediately caught my eye, followed by “Maybe” and “Say” after I had thought about common methods for formulating questions.
Next came the yellow category, but I had already messed it up once. I thought nerd, runt, grump, and dope might be related because they can all be used as insults. When I got stuck with that line of thinking, I wondered what else Time Set could be if not something to do with an alarm clock, and that’s how Alarm, Hour, and Snooze came into play.
The blue category was tricky because “kiss,” “nerd,” “runt,” and “whopper” all refer to candy, not playground insults or Burger King burgers as I mistakenly thought.
I was out of guesses before I solved the purple category. Dope, Grump, and Sleep seem obvious now, even if they weren’t immediately, but I don’t think I would have ever associated Do (the name Doc without the “c”) with them alone. You win this time, Connections Crew.
