Every good basketball player has a game preparation routine to get his concentration in the right state before an important game.
While there are many notable pre-game routines, none are as healthy as those of Caitlin Clark and Aliyah Boston.
The two Indiana Fever stars give each other a few words of affirmation before every game, making sure they both feel safe before stepping on the field.
“You’re going to be great because you’re great,” Clark recently told Boston in a mic-filled moment posted by the Fever.
“Thank you, you too,” Boston replied.
The pregame routine has to work because Boston and Clark are both having great seasons.
Boston, who is in her second season in the WNBA, is averaging 14.2 points, 8.7 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game. Clark is one of the favorites for Rookie of the Year with 17.6 points, 8.3 assists and 5.8 rebounds per game.
Together, the two have led Indiana to a 13-15 record and the Fever are currently ranked No. 7 in the WNBA rankings. Their 13 wins have already matched last season’s win total and surpassed their win totals from 2020, 2021 and 2022.
With 12 games left this season, Indiana has a chance to continue its comeback season and perhaps make a strong playoff run.
