Joanne DiGesu’s mother is not happy that her daughter secretly married Sean.
In a preview of Monday night’s episode of 90 Day Fiance: The Other Way, Joanne drops a bombshell when she reveals to her mom that she and Sean eloped without telling anyone.
As Joanne revealed this season, she and Sean decided to get married during their third trip to Ireland, but didn’t tell anyone.
As the New York-based astrologer and psychic admitted, the more time passes, the harder it becomes to tell people.
Now the time has come to tell her mother, and things aren’t going as smoothly as Joanne would have liked.

During a conversation in the living room, Joanne’s mother Donna asks: “Where are we going?”
Joanne drops a bombshell on her mother Donna
“Um, well,” Joanne hesitates. “We’re going to, um… well, we’re married.”
Donna stares at her daughter in shock for a few seconds as she tries to process what she has just confessed.
Donna puts Joanne’s Aunt Marilyn in a difficult position and asks her if she knew about Joanne and Sean’s escape.
Marilyn claims that she didn’t know anything about it either, and Donna begins to lose her composure.
Donna waves her arms in the air and shouts, “No, no, no! When did you get married?”
Joanne reveals that she and Sean got married almost two years ago, and Donna’s anger grows.
“Who marries someone who doesn’t know anyone?” asks Donna, but Joanne defends herself.
“Yes, I know him well enough,” Joanne replies, but Donna becomes increasingly heated and asks why she didn’t even tell her own mother that she was getting married.
“Oh, hell no!” Donna exclaims as she begins to digest Joanne’s news. “No way!”
When Joanne tries to explain to Donna and Marilyn that people run away all the time, their aunt replies that they usually only tell their loved ones after the fact.
Donna continues her rant, asking why her new son-in-law hasn’t even tried to contact her.
Joanne continues to defend her position, telling her mother that she and Sean had a plan and got married for themselves and no one else – specifically to avoid anyone bringing negativity or drama.
Joanne and Sean’s wedding was so secret that even Sean didn’t tell his mother.
When Joanne stresses that she and Sean didn’t want to tell anyone about their marriage, Donna reminds her, “It’s not about ‘anyone’, I’m your mother. I’m not anyone!”
Sean predicted that his and Joanne’s family members would not take the news well
As we saw in last week’s episode, Joanne and Sean used video chat to predict how their family members would react when they told them the news.
As Sean put it, “Oh, but it’s going to be a shitty show when we tell everyone in two years, isn’t it?”
When Sean asked Joanne why they didn’t just tell their family about their wedding, she said it was because they were “enjoying the moment to the fullest.”
“It’s like, ‘Yes, you’re my person, and we’re going to do this, and that’s all,’” Joanne said.
