Vended releases new video for the single “Serenity”

We all know who Vended is by now. Led by Corey Taylor’s son Griffin, the band, which also includes Slipknot alum Simon Crahan (Clown’s Child), strikes a similar balance between hard hits and melodic tones, and you can clearly hear (and see) that in the band’s video for their new song “Serenity” from their upcoming debut album. You can watch it below.

As you guessed, serenity isn’t something you’d use to describe the band, but there’s something soothing about the way Taylor alternates between loud shouting and crooning. In the video, the band plays somberly in the middle of the night during a thunderstorm while something sinister lurks. And that sinister thing? Well, it’s an old white guy with a menacing look and a creepy barn. And what is this old white guy doing? A lot of this is left up to interpretation, but it’s obvious that he just fucking killed some guy.

I probably just gave it all away, but the energy of the video for “Serenity” definitely screams Vended (and a little bit of Slipknot).

The track is the fourth from their debut, which is due out next month. Taylor has previously commented on how Vended is bringing “aggression” and “emotion” back to the metal scene. “Vended is an entity aiming for world domination and this album is the first step. Welcome to Vended.” Damn right, boss.

Vended will be touring next month, headlining some dates, as well as sharing a number of dates with Slipknot and Knocked Loose. They’ll even be playing Korn’s 30th anniversary show in October, along with Evanescence, Gojira and Spiritbox.
