Jeremy Renner and Robert Downey Jr. have been together since the first avenger. The original six cast members still maintain a group chat and post updates about their daily happenings. However, Downey Jr. did not mention his casting as Doctor Doom in the group, and the announcement shocked Renner as much as fans.

In a recent interview with US Weekly, the Hawkeye actor revealed that the Iron Man star didn’t even give a hint about his casting in the group chat and was surprised at how well he was able to hide the big news. He also expressed his excitement about the casting and the possibilities it could bring. Renner said:

The actor also teased the challenges the studio will face in assembling the massive cast of the two Avengers films. Hawkeye is expected to play a central role in the films and it remains to be seen how the studio will tackle this herculean task.

Avengers: Endgame And Avengers: Secret Wars will be released in theaters on May 1, 2026 and May 7, 2027.
