MJF on the Young Bucks: “AEW doesn’t exist without them” – PWMania

AEW American Champion MJF spoke to WrestleTalk about a number of topics surrounding pro wrestling, including how the company wouldn’t exist without The Young Bucks (Matthew Jackson and Nicholas Jackson) and how he believes up-and-coming talent, as well as fans, should give them the respect they deserve.

MJF said, “I’m going to do something I rarely do and I’m going to put them front and center. They’re innovators. The company doesn’t exist without them. There are a lot of people that come to All Elite Wrestling, this company has been around for over five years now, I was there before day one. I was with All In before the company even existed. I’m one of the few that was still a real day one guy. I was in the first match in AEW history, the Casino Battle Royale, where I beat Hangman Page and did a great promo for Bret Hart. None of this would have happened without Matt and Nick Jackson.”

“I think it’s a shame that new people coming into my company should give them the respect they have earned and deserve. I think the fans should give them the respect they have earned and deserve. Would I work with them in a capacity where I felt we could mutually benefit from it from a business perspective? I have issues with trust. Especially after what Adam Cole did to me. Horrible guy. We can all agree on that, right? I don’t see a long-term business relationship, but I would be interested in a short-term business relationship that I think would be mutually beneficial.”
