Premier League LIVE: Brentford vs Crystal Palace and Chelsea vs Manchester City – team news, scores, results and latest updates

  • Brentford are winless in their six Premier League games against Crystal Palace (5 draws, 1 loss). This is both the most meetings the Bees have had against a team in the competition without ever winning (also 6 against Newcastle) and the most meetings the Eagles have had against a team without ever losing (also 6 against QPR).

  • After a 3-1 win against Brentford in December last year, Crystal Palace will be looking to win two consecutive league games against the Bees for the first time since December 1957.

  • For the third time in four Premier League seasons, Brentford will begin the season with a London derby. They beat Arsenal 2-0 in the 2021/22 season before drawing 2-2 with Spurs last term.

  • Crystal Palace beat Sheffield United 1-0 in their first league game last season, but have not won their first league game in two consecutive seasons since the 2006/2007/2008 season.

  • After a 14-game winning streak in Premier League London derbies between October 2022 and November 2023, Brentford have now lost five of their last seven games against other London opponents (U2).

  • Brentford have won three of their last six Premier League games (1 draw, 2 defeats), as many as they have won in their previous 21 games combined (4 draws, 14 defeats).

  • Crystal Palace finished the 2023–24 Premier League season with six wins from seven matches (D1), winning their last three in a row by an aggregate score of 12-1. Their last four consecutive victories came between February and June 2020.

  • After scoring in four of his first five games following his suspension last season, Brentford’s Ivan Toney is now goalless in 12 Premier League games. He has only had a longer dry spell in English league football once, between December 2015 and August 2016 at Barnsley, Newcastle and Shrewsbury Town, where he failed to score in 15 games.

  • In his previous time in English league football between 2019 and 2023, Crystal Palace signing Ismaïla Sarr was Watford’s best player in terms of goals (33), assists (17), chances created (124), total shots (251) and touches in the opposition penalty area (539), while only João Pedro (242) completed more dribbles than the Senegalese international (208).

  • Since Oliver Glasner’s first game as manager on February 24, Crystal Palace’s Jean-Philippe Mateta has scored more Premier League goals than any other player (13). In fact, he scored more goals in 13 appearances under Glasner (13) than he did in his first 80 Premier League games (11).
