Journalist Florian Plettenberg has revealed that Frenkie de Jong is likely to stay in Barcelona for the foreseeable future.
According to Plettenberg, there are currently no transfer plans until the transfer deadline, and there are also no talks with other clubs about a transfer.
This is because Hansi Flick, the new coach of FC Barcelona, values de Jong very much and sees him as an important part of his plans for the team.

Despite ongoing speculation about De Jong’s future at the club – mainly due to Barcelona’s difficult financial situation – a transfer does not seem imminent.

Manchester United have been discussed as potential suitors for De Jong, but it seems they are no longer considering a move for him at this late stage, making De Jong’s future at Barcelona look more secure as the transfer window draws to a close.

For now, De Jong will focus on his recovery from a series of injuries that have plagued him this summer. Barcelona have not yet set a concrete date for his return, which is worrying considering he is one of the team’s highest-paid players.
The club and its fans can hardly wait to see him back on the pitch as soon as possible and to use him as a reinforcement for the team.
