How to cut cakes without cutlery using a mind-blowing hack

We all love cake, don’t we?

This delicious dessert is a must at any celebration, be it a birthday party or a wedding. However, the slightly less enjoyable part usually comes after the candles are blown out, when each guest awaits their share of the cake.

And we all know that cutting can be a bit of a hassle… But guess what: There’s one technique you’ll wish you’d known sooner that could make the difference at any event!

On X, formerly Twitter, the viral account “Today Years Old,” which is followed by over a million users, revealed a cutting-edge cake-serving hack.

Have you ever heard of this innovative method?

The post included the question: “How old were you when you discovered this?” The intriguing caption was accompanied by a video of partygoers poking wine glasses into them to carefully scoop out pieces of cake.

This method not only looks chic, but also leaves hardly any annoying crumbs. And you don’t need any cutlery.

Basically, you can just scoop up your cake without the need for a knife or server (though you might still need a fork when you bite into it). Since it was uploaded on August 13, the clip has been viewed over 289,700 times.

One user exclaimed: “Yep, definitely years old today. Looks more like a bungler.”

And another planned ahead and said: “Cheers, I’ll try that next time!” Meanwhile, a third simply said: “Today.”

However, some culinary enthusiasts were not entirely convinced by the trick. One said: “I’ve been doing this since I was a child, I scoop it out by hand!”

In addition, a second skeptic commented, “This is so stupid. If someone tried to pull something like this at my party, I would make them do the dishes.”

One mum’s genius cake-cutting trick lets you get 32 slices for the price of one. User ‘Muddle Through Mummy’ shared with her followers a simple method for cutting a cake meant for 14 people into 32 equal-sized slices – but still enough to satisfy little ones’ hunger.
