The only newcomer on Saturday’s UFC 305 card in Perth, Australia was Stewart Nicoll, an undefeated flyweight who teamed with Jesus Aguilar for his debut.

Aguilar, a 2022 Contender Series graduate, had a 2-1 record under the UFC banner but was missing the required weight for the fight.

However, this did not seem to stop him in the slightest and in the end, this time too, everything was over quickly.

Jesus Aguilar started the fight with a combination that pinned Nicoll against the cage. Nicoll used a kimura to sweep Aguilar and throw him onto his back. Aguilar stayed calm and when he got up, Nicoll let his neck hang out and Aguilar jumped on it. The guillotine was in use for a while and eventually put Nicoll to sleep! The referee was very close and Aguilar helped lift Nicoll’s legs to get the blood flowing and bring him back to consciousness.

An excellent victory, marred only by the wrong weight.

“Too much sleep,” Aguilar said in an interview with Daniel Cormier about the difficult arrival. “I’m sorry, I’m sorry. The time is completely different,” he added, referring to the time difference in Perth.

Although it was a big win for Jesus Aguilar at UFC 305, it doesn’t look like he’s planning on returning to action anytime soon, instead hinting that he needs some time off until March 2025.

Official result: Jesus Aguilar defeats Stewart Nicoll by technical submission (guillotine choke), round 1, 2:35
