Arrests in connection with Matthew Perry’s death

Several people have been arrested in connection with the death of Matthew Perry.
The actor – best known for his role as Chandler Bing in “Friends” – died in October 2023 at the age of 54 from the acute effects of ketamine, and a law enforcement source has now confirmed to CNN that several people have been arrested following a police investigation.
The charges are scheduled to be announced during a press conference in Los Angeles on Thursday morning (15.08.24). Details of Perry’s actions are expected to be announced during the press conference.
In December, an autopsy report confirmed that Perry died from the “acute effects of ketamine.”
The report also listed drowning, coronary heart disease and the effects of buprenorphine as factors contributing to the actor’s death.
Perry, who was found dead in a “residential swimming pool,” suffered from drug and alcohol addiction for years, and buprenorphine is a medication used to treat opioid use disorder.
The actor’s death was ruled an accident; the report said there was no suspicion of foul play.
However, in May, Captain Scot Williams of the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed to CNN that an investigation was still ongoing and that criminal action was being pursued.
He said at the time: “Hypothetically, there is the possibility of criminal liability depending on what the investigation uncovers, but we are not there yet at that point.”
Williams confirmed that authorities were investigating how Perry got the drugs and who supplied them to him.
The investigation was assisted by the U.S. Postal Inspection Service and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.
Perry was buried in November at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Los Angeles.
