Dancing On Ice champion Nile Wilson wants to focus on his YouTube career before turning his attention to reality TV – but admits he would find it difficult to turn down an invitation to appear on I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here.

The Olympic bronze medalist retired in 2021 due to injury and has since built a successful career as a YouTuber, scoring a win on the ITV show in 2023 with his skating partner Olivia Smart.

Although the former gymnast wants to focus on his own online content, Australia is tempting.

“Dancing On Ice was a great experience,” he told the PA news agency.

“I would love to go to the jungle. That would be what I would absolutely love. It’s not my main focus, but I’m very grateful to have these opportunities. Bring it on.”

Wilson became Britain’s first Olympic medallist on high bar in Rio 2016 and recovered from ankle surgery to win three gold medals at the 2018 Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast.

He had to undergo neck surgery in 2019, which ultimately meant he would not compete in Tokyo in 2021.

But the 28-year-old from Leeds is returning to Paris for the Olympic Games later this month, working as an expert for discovery+.

“I’ve had some incredible television experiences,” Wilson said.

“I see it as an opportunity that runs parallel to my work on YouTube.”
