10 Secret Ways to Turn Bad Video Game Endings into Good ones

The bad ending of a game can be a pretty disappointing experience when you were really trying to achieve a better one.

After all the hard work, it can be disheartening to realize that the game has led you down the path of failure. However, don’t worry too much because some games contain secret solutions to get out of these terrible situations.

That’s right! Sometimes a bad ending doesn’t mean you can’t change the course of events to make the consequences a little less painful or even downright positive.

Such emergency secrets are obviously difficult to figure out and implement, but if you manage to implement them, your guaranteed bad ending will not be nearly as bad as it could have been.

The following secrets are hidden behind complicated chains of events, seemingly insignificant decisions, and tough sacrifices that ultimately lead to something bigger.

They are not easy to come by, but when you are already in a difficult situation and heading straight for a bad end, you can make lemonade out of lemons.

The story of Fallout 4 is heavily based on the conflict between the four major factions in the game. In the end, you are forced to choose a side to fight for and destroy all the competition in the process.

Pretty much every final mission in the game ends with you eliminating the other factions, including any friends and companions you had there. However, there is a secret “path of least resistance” where you only eliminate one faction, and funnily enough, this happens when you screw up the right endings.

If you side with the Minutemen and then get kicked out of the Institute before you’re done spying, the game will catapult you straight into the final confrontation with the bogeymen of the Commonwealth. It will skip the open conflict between the factions in Bunker Hill and end the game in a peaceful stalemate where the Brotherhood, the Railroad, and the Minutemen can coexist without fighting.

This ending is the only way to keep most of your companions alive, even if they’re working for opposing factions, so if you don’t want to make difficult decisions, consider being a terrible spy who messes up their jobs.
