Livvy Dunne has apparently been working on her Paul Skenes imitation lately.
The LSU gymnastics star showed up at Fanatics Fest on Saturday wearing a Pittsburgh Pirates uniform and even sporting a fake mustache like Skenes. Then she did her best to mimic Skenes’ performance on the mound.
While she’s not quite as fast as her boyfriend, she added some flair with a follow-up flip, something we’ll likely never see from Skenes after she strikes out a batter.
Maybe Dunne can spend the rest of her offseason in the bullpen and let Skenes work on her fastball, and in return, maybe Skenes will work on his gymnastic skills.
Skenes is a breakout star in his rookie year with the Pirates. The former No. 1 pick in the 2023 MLB Draft has 121 strikeouts, a 2.30 ERA and a 0.97 WHIP in 16 starts, while also posting a 7-2 record.
LSU’s standout player will look to continue his rise to stardom in the final stretch of the season.
Dunne will return to LSU for her fifth season later this year. She led the Tigers to their fifth SEC title and first national championship in 2024 and will look to build on that success this season.
