- Semenyo is set to replace striker Dominic Solanke, who joined Tottenham in the summer.
Black Stars striker Antoine Semenyo picked up where he left off last season after scoring his first goal of the season in AFC Bournemouth’s match against Nottingham Forest.
Semenyo, who is expected to bear the brunt of the club’s goalscoring tally this season following the departure of last season’s top scorer Dominic Solanke, assured fans that he would fill the void left by the English striker with an impressive performance.
Bournemouth travelled to the City Grounds for their opening game against the Reds and after a slow start, the hosts took the lead through Chris Wood.

Danjo Ouattara reacted a few minutes later, but the video assistant referee (VAR) disallowed the goal and Nottingham went into the break with a lead.
But when the home team failed to clear the ball towards the end of the game, Semenyo, who was omnipresent in attack, took his chance and secured a valuable point for his team with a shot from close range.
Semenyo scored eight goals and provided two assists last season and was the club’s second-top scorer.
