Lesbian put on airline’s no-fly list for sex with man

Lesbian put on airline’s no-fly list for sex with man

A traveler has been placed on American Airlines’ no-fly list for “sexual relations with a man,” but there’s just one problem… she’s a lesbian.

How could all this happen, how do you prove your sexual orientation and that this accusation was never made? Erin Wright posted the now viral story on her TikTok account on August 8. She found out about the lifetime ban when she was about to board her flight to New Orleans to celebrate her sister’s bachelorette party.

“I was permanently banned from American Airlines for having sexual relations with a man on the plane, even though I’m a lesbian,” the 24-year-old told her followers. “The (gate agent) looks nervous and says, ‘Ma’am, I’m really sorry to tell you this, but you have actually been banned from American Airlines.’ I was like, ‘What? I never did anything.'”

Although she tried to explain that she had done nothing wrong and wanted to know the reason for her flight ban, the gate agent said it was an “internal security” matter and they could not give the reason. Wright had to spend $1,000 to get another flight on a different airline to get to the bachelorette party in time while she waited for the $400 refund from American Airlines.

After waiting 12 days for a refund, American Airlines informed her that she was banned from flying for life due to alleged sexual relations with a man in an airplane bathroom.

“I’m a 24-year-old lesbian. Do you see me? Do I have sexual relations with any man? No,” she continued. “I send them a very serious email, but also a little bit funny because in it I say, ‘I don’t really know how to prove it wasn’t me, other than the fact that I’m literally a lesbian.'”

Wright’s mother vouched for her daughter’s sexual orientation and was later removed from the no-fly list. She was refunded the $400, but was not reimbursed for the $1,000 she spent on a new ticket to correct her terrible mistake.

“When they called me to tell me they were taking me off the no-fly list, they said, ‘I hope this wasn’t too much of an inconvenience.’ … Oh, you mean the last three months of communication, that I missed my flight, got my lawyer involved, and had to email three directors at AA to get customer service to respond to me?” she wrote.
