The Farley Foundation is excited to invite its community of supporters and animal lovers in Halton Region to the first Ride for Farley Community Barbecue.

The free event will be held on Saturday, September 14 from noon to 4 p.m. at 420 Bronte St. S. in Milton and will feature family-friendly activities, food, fundraisers and presentations.

The event will feature great food from Smokin’ Bones BBQ Catering, including vegan and gluten-free options, music from Toronto-based DJ Ugo Flo, free pet photos from Burlington-based Happy Tails Pet Photography, and a kids’ activity station with face painting and coloring.

In addition, Foundation President Dr. Gwen Jeun will give a lecture to attendees, and Milton Mayor Gordon Krantz and MPP Zee Hamid will deliver speeches.

“We are thrilled to bring our community together in support of such a meaningful cause,” said Kristy Hoffmann, the foundation’s manager of community and donor relations.

“This event is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate our incredible work and the impact we have on people and pets in need.”

The Ride for Farley Community BBQ is a new addition to the Foundation’s annual Ride for Farley event, where veterinary professionals, families, friends and the community come together to cycle 50 or 100 km around Milton in support of the Foundation.

The goal of the barbecue is to bring the community together to congratulate the cyclists, celebrate the foundation, raise awareness and raise additional funds for people and pets in need. The foundation aims to raise $50,000 with the event.

“We hope everyone comes to enjoy a day of fun and charity,” says Hoffmann. “Your support will help us continue our mission and improve the lives of many people.”
