Why the media can’t stop attacking Joe Rogan

Why the media can’t stop attacking Joe Rogan

Joe Rogan made it onto the Hollywood Reporter’s list of most influential podcasters. Of course.

Rogan has been at or near the top of the podcast charts for some time.

However, when you read through the biographies of his podcast colleagues, something becomes apparent. Rogan seems to be the only one who is full of negative information.

The conspiracy-theory-loving, anti-vaxxer comedian and MMA enthusiast established himself as the undisputed king of podcasting in 2020 with his $200 million, three-and-a-half-year deal with Spotify. Top artists like Neil Young left the platform in protest.

Hmmmm.

Why did THR choose Rogan for this negative portrayal? Even stranger? The far-left website praised her podcast colleague Rachel Maddow, who eagerly spread the biggest fake news story of a generation – the Russian collusion hoax.

She’s not interested in conspiracies. She’s all in. And yet the article contains nothing but praise for Maddow.

Hmmmm.

There is a lot of excitement about Rogan at Salon right now following the release of his latest Netflix special, “Burn the Boats.”

What he and the other comedians he promotes have in common, aside from Netflix deals, is their penchant for transphobic material and support for far-right fanatics under the guise of “asking questions” and seeking the “truth.” They also fill stadiums, cultivate their audiences online, and spread some truly heinous ideas under the guise of making fun and supposedly thinking.

There is more.

Netflix’s willingness to give even more prominence to an artist whose whole thing is to smile at misinformation and normalize trans panic should worry us more than we think—even though they’ve done it several times before.

Salon wants a world where no company gives Rogan a platform. Why? False information and hateful jokes.

Media attacks Rogan, but not Colbert and Co. … Why?

Except other comedians dish out both without Salon or The Hollywood Reporter wringing their hands.

Remember that? Colbert goes all out on both, including classic “gay panic” material.

Or this:

And let’s not forget the heated reviews of Rogan’s “Burn the Boats.”

Here, far-left outlet Indiewire subtly suggests that Netflix should cancel Rogan. (I’ve seen this happen before, but I haven’t been successful.)

Rogan aggressively mocks the LGBTQ community, attacks the 7 million people who have died from COVID, reminds other fearmongers of the moronic Pizzagate theory, and spreads a ton of other misinformation — all while claiming to be a good guy. It’s grotesque, but par for the course for the data-driven streamer who proudly flaunts transphobes like Dave Chappelle.

The Daily Beast also condemned the special, calling it a victory for “right-wing comedy.” But Rogan is not a right-wing extremist.

Strange.

Why this never-ending anger against a comedian? Rogan does not dictate policy or hide from questions like a certain presidential candidate. He has not faked his military service, nor has he supported criminals who want to burn down major cities.

Rogan is a true center-leftist. He supports many liberal positions (marijuana legalization, gay marriage, and more) and refuses to have Donald Trump on his show.

The media detests him for two reasons: he is fair to guests from the centre-right and he does not allow himself to be controlled.

Rogan Tells is (mostly) what it is

Rogan exposed President Joe Biden’s cognitive decline months before the press, speaking out on behalf of those who do not support the administration’s extreme pandemic measures, many of which are now woefully outdated.

He regularly calls out the corrupt mass media, and they have no defense against these attacks. Because he is right.

He is also his own boss. He does not promote vaccines like professional writer Stephen Colbert.

Rogan knows better, and his refusal to relay the Left’s daily story has made him a target.

This goal may never go away.

For all these reasons, the media and the left (but we repeat ourselves) will never stop trying to cancel Rogan. And if they ever succeed, the fight for free speech may be over.
