A group of thieves on bicycles robbed two 7-Eleven stores in the Hollywood neighborhood on Friday, marking the second week in a row that a similar incident has occurred.

The robbery occurred at the first store on Sunset Boulevard and La Brea Avenue around 8 p.m., according to Los Angeles police.

They say a group of men on bicycles, apparently in their late teens or early 20s, targeted the store and smashed a window before fleeing towards Wilton Place.

Just about 20 minutes later, another 7-Eleven store was attacked, this time in the 5700 block of Santa Monica Boulevard, police said.

In this case, the group of cyclists entered the store, smashed a window and stole an unknown amount of merchandise, the LAPD said.

Although there is no connection between the two incidents, police say the two thefts occurred just over three kilometers apart.
