MJF says AEW wouldn’t exist without the Young Bucks, fans should show them more respect

Maxwell Jacob Friedman believes the Young Bucks don’t get the respect they deserve.

The AEW American Champion recently spoke with WrestleTalk for an interview to promote AEW ALL IN: London 2024 next weekend at Wembley Stadium and during the conversation he advocated for the aforementioned AEW EVPs.

“I’m going to do something I rarely do and I’m going to outshine them,” MJF said. “They’re innovators. Without them, the company wouldn’t exist. There are a lot of people that come to All Elite Wrestling, this company has been around for over five years now, I was there before day one. I was with All In before the company even existed. I’m one of the few that was still a real day one guy. I was in the first match in AEW history, the Casino Battle Royale, where I beat Hangman Page and did a great promo for Bret Hart. None of that would have happened without Matt and Nick Jackson.”

Friedman continued, “I think it’s a shame that new people coming into my company should give them the respect that they have earned and deserve. I think the fans should give them the respect that they have earned and deserve. Would I work with them in a capacity where I felt like we could mutually benefit from it from a business perspective? I have issues with trust. Especially after what Adam Cole did to me. Horrible guy. We can all agree on that, right? I don’t see a long-term business relationship, but I would be interested in a short-term business relationship that I think would be mutually beneficial.”
