Police dog positively marks an American woman’s Jimny during a traffic stop by the PDC

Playa del Carmen, QR — An American woman who reportedly lives in Playa del Carmen has been arrested for drug trafficking. Karla “N,” 28, was stopped by police in downtown Playa del Carmen on Wednesday for a traffic violation.

She was stopped while driving her Suzuki Jimny south on 5th Street. While police spoke to her, their sniffer dog clearly marked her vehicle as an illegal item.

During a check, the police found 11 bags of drugs. She was arrested for drug trafficking.

In a statement, the SSC (Seguridad Ciudadana Solidaridad), Solidaridad’s citizen security, reported: “The Solidaridad Municipal Police arrested a person who may have been in possession of narcotics as part of the preventive measures against this crime.

“Traffic police officers traveling on the national highway at Sur Street 5 stopped the driver of a Suzuki Jimny vehicle for violating traffic regulations.

“A sniffer dog raised the alarm and marked their vehicle as it approached. After a security check, officers confiscated 11 packages containing possible narcotics.

“For this reason, 28-year-old Karla “N”, a native of the USA, was made available to the Specialized Public Prosecutor’s Office for a crime involving drug trafficking.”
